DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS is a premium-grade, ready-to-use, water-based sealer formulated for use on natural stone. DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS is formulated specifically to seal porous surfaces and is ideal to use on pool copings and decks protecting them from salt penetration. It can be used on all porous surfaces such as natural stone, tile, concrete, pavers, and grout. DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS provides increased resistance to spalling and pitting of porous stone and concrete surfaces caused by salt penetration as well as spalling caused by freeze-thaw cycles.
DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS weatherproofs and protects virtually all porous surfaces, including decks, porches, patios, and walkways around pools. This includes the following surfaces: natural stone, mortar joint, concrete, brick, concrete block, stucco. Another advantage DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS provides is that the product will not significantly alter the color or tint of the surface after application. (Always do a small test area prior to full application).

Hi, I noticed that you sell a product called Deck-O-Shield Plus for salt water pools. I was wondering how I go about finding locations that sell this product. Thanks, Tom.
Thank you for your interest! Please call 800-342-5976 to reach your local branch office, who will point you to your closest distributor.
I saw your product on the Internet and I am hopeful it will help with the erosion and flaking in my Arizona flagstone pool coping that surrounds our salt water pool. We also have the flagstone facing in our adjoining jacuzzi. However, I am concerned your product might make the flagstone coping slippery. Can I use Shark-Grip additive with your product? Thanks, Rick Wolf
Richard,
Thank you for your interest in the Deck-O-Seal line of high quality swimming pool products. The Deck-O-Shield Plus would be a good choice to prevent salt water degradation on flagstone pool coping. As far as making your coping slippery this is a penetrating product that will not leave a plastic film on the surface, so traction should not be a problem. Since this product doesn’t leave a plastic membrane on the surface you can’t use a grit in conjunction with these types of products.
what advantage does the DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS have over standard DECK-O-SHIELD, specifically around a salt water pool? i noticed the specs of both products will work in salt pools.
The difference between DECK-O-SHIELD and DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS is the solids content. DECK-O-SHIELD is manufactured to be used on dense surfaces and DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS is manufactured to be used on more porous surfaces. On porous stones like limestone installers were not putting on enough DECK-O-SHIELD. They were wanting to complete the job applying on one coat. On porous limestone it takes two or three coats of DECK-O-SHIELD. You can put down one coat of DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS on most limestone applications. Once the products are applied to optimum penetration then they are equal.
I just want to say thank you for making such a great product! I use DECK-O-SHIELD on all of my pool restoration projects with natural stone. Using a lacquer sealer just traps moisture and creates a milky appearance. Your product doesn’t! Thanks again.

Thank you very much for your business, and I’m glad DECK-O-SHIELD is working for you.
I have a sandstone facing and sandstone waterfall coming out of my spa spilling into and feeding the pool. Can I use deck-o-shield plus for this (especially the flat rock that the water spills over) because the salt water is corroding the flat rock and it is affecting the water fall flow? I was just wondering if a sealant would work because the rock always has water flowing over it when the pump is on and would it be safe for the pool since the waterfall spills into it?
John,
You can use Deck-O-Shield or Deck-O-Shield Plus for this application. Once the product dries it will not have any effect on your water.
Thank you.
